In 1907 a new bank was added to Mooresville's financial firms - Merchants & Farmers Bank.
This institution continued to operate until the Great Depression of 1929, when it ceased to do business in 1933.
In 1946, the Piedmont Bank & Trust Co opened in the building until around 1966 when they moved location.
Most recently the Quilters Loft Company occupied the space, & we're proud to be a new part of it's rich history.
Even though it would have been a lot more cost effective to install a new walk-in cooler, we wanted to reuse the space that already existed and give the old vault a new purpose: to keep our beers safe.
We disabled the locking mechanism on the original vault door, so no one would get locked in, and added a cooling system.
The vault now keeps our kegs safe!
The original 1907 safe that was in the vault (we think they built the vault around it) was removed to preserve it and give us more space for beer!
You can still see the safe in the main bar area.
